Arriving by Car
From the North via I-93: Take exit 28 "Boston/Sullivan Square/Charlestown" to Maffa Way. Take a slight right onto Rutherford Avenue. Get in the left hand lane and turn left onto Chelsea Street. Follow Chelsea Street to the 5th traffic light and turn right at 16th Street ("Gate 6"). Spaulding is two blocks ahead on your left, at the intersection of 16th Street and 1st Avenue. The address is 300 1st Avenue.
From the North via Route 1 South: Follow Route 1S over the Tobin Bridge (Please note, a toll of $3 will be charged). Take the "Charlestown/Somerville" exit. At first light, turn right onto Rutherford Avenue and bear immediately into the left-turn lane. At the stoplight, turn left onto Chelsea Street. From the South via I-93: Take the Government Center, Exit 23. Stay in the right-hand lane. Turn right onto Cross Street. Turn slightly right onto Joe Tecce Way/North Washington Street. North Washington Street turns into Rutherford Street/MA-99. At the end of bridge turn right onto Chelsea Street Follow Chelsea Street to the 5th traffic light and turn right at 16th Street ("Gate 6"). Spaulding is two blocks ahead on your left, at the intersection of 16th Street and 1st Avenue. The address is 300 1st Avenue.
From the West: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) to I-93 North. Follow directions for "From the South via I-93," above.
Public parking for patients, visitors and handicap accessible parking is available in the parking garage located beneath the new hospital. There will be a parking fee which has yet to be determined.
Directions to Parking Garage (Building 199) in Charlestown Navy Yard:
Follow the driving directions above to Chelsea Street and turn right at the 4th traffic light on 13th Street. Take the first left turn onto 5th Avenue. The entrance to the Building 199 parking garage is on your right.
Walking Directions from Building 199 Parking Garage to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital:
Go to the pedestrian exit of the parking garage, located on 13th Street. Turn left on 13th Street and walk two blocks to First Avenue. Turn left onto First Avenue. Walk straight. The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital will be directly in front of you.
Arriving by Subway/Commuter Rail/The RIDE
From North station, take the Spaulding Express shuttle, the Partners shuttle, a Hubway bicycle, or walk to our campus.
From Sullivan Station, take the Public Bus #93. This bus stops at the corner of Warren and Chelsea Streets for convenient access to Spaulding Boston.
The RIDE is available for persons with disabilities who need public transport.
Arriving by Public Bus #93
MBTA Bus #93 (Sullivan Square) From Downtown Crossing or Haymarket. This bus stops at the corner of Warren and Chelsea Streets for convenient access to Spaulding Boston. It also stops at 5th and Chelsea Streets for a short walk to Spaulding.
The MBTA Bus #93 pulls into the Navy Yard at the following select times, making stops at Thirteenth and 5th Street, a short walk to Spaulding: Weekday AM: 9:00am 10:00am 11:00am
Weekday PM: 12:00PM, 1:50PM (except during school vacation) 3:00PM, 3:58PM, 4:30PM, 5:02PM, 5:34PM, 5:57PM.
Arriving by Partners Shuttle (daily, except holidays)
Partners and Spaulding offer two shuttles to the Charlestown Navy Yard.
Spaulding will supplement the existing Partners shuttles into the Navy Yard during peak commuting hours. Take the Partners shuttles displaying a “Spaulding Express” placard from North Station. The shuttles pick up on the corner of Haverhill Street (across from the TD Garden) and drive directly to the Spaulding Shuttle stop.

From Massachusetts General Hospital (Mass Gen) Take any Partners shuttle displaying an "MGH/CNY" placard, which departs Massachusetts General Hospital from the shuttle stop located between the Jackson Building doors and the Blossom Street loading dock (after 6:00 p.m., it moves to Gray Building doors).
Monday through Friday: Every 15 minutes 5:30 a.m. - 7:45 p.m.; every half hour 8:00 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. Weekends: Every half hour 9:00 a.m. - 5:45 p.m.
From North Station
From MGH, the shuttle stops at North Station on Causeway Street on the corner of Haverhill Street (across from the TD Garden) on its way to the Navy Yard.
Directions from Charlestown Shuttle Stops to Spaulding:
Partners Shuttle: Get off at the third shuttle stop after North Station (or second on weekends), which is at Building 149, at 3rd Ave. and 13th Street. From Building 149, cross 13th Street and walk down 3rd Ave. one block to 16th Street. Turn right on 16th Street and walk one block to the corner of 16th Street and 1st Ave. for the main entrance of Spaulding. “Spaulding Express”: The Spaulding Express shuttle will drop off at a designated shuttle stop on 3rd Ave., near the corner of 16th Street. Depart the shuttle and walk to 16th Street, turn right and walk one block to the corner of 16th Street and 1st Ave., for the main entrance of Spaulding. To return to Boston from Spaulding, the shuttle stops for pick up are the same as drop off locations. The Partners shuttle is free to all riders.
Arriving by Inner Harbor Ferry (from Long Wharf)
The Navy Yard can be reached from Long Wharf, (Aquarium stop on the Blue line) via the Inner Harbor Ferry, Route F4. Long Wharf is within walking distance of South Station (Red line) and State Street (Orange, Blue lines). PDF of F4 Schedule.
The ferry drops passengers off at the end of Baxter Road on Pier 3. Walk up Pier 3 to First Avenue. Building 36 will be to the right. For 2CC turn left onto First Avenue, walk through the active Navy Yard to Constitution Road. The entrance for 2CC is 1 block up Constitutions Road on the left, through red metal gates with a sign for 2CC.
The Inner Harbor ferry operates Monday through Friday, with more limited weekend service.
Cost: Inner Harbor Ferry is $3.00 for adults, one way. Fare for Seniors and people with disabilities (with Charlie Transport Access Pass (TAP) Card) is half fare each way. See details of Reduced Fare programs.
Arriving by Bicycle
There will be a Hubway bike station (coming Spring 2013) adjacent to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and one currently in front of North Station. With a membership, bikes can be taken out of one station and brought to another, and the first 30 minutes of a Hubway bike ride are free.
The Charles River Locks and the Charlestown/North Washington Street Bridge make North Station easily accessible to bikers. The newly opened North Bank Pedestrian Bridge provides bikers with a convenient path to Hubway bike stations at the Lechmere MBTA station (Green line and buses), and 1 Kendall Square (convenient for the Red line) in Cambridge.
